Don't get discouraged when you write down your problems or revisions. It will help you to write better articles in the future. How to Write an Effective Journal Article CritiqueWriting a journal article critique can be a very rewarding experience for many writers. But, how do you go about it?I submit articles to many magazines. And what I've noticed is that the editor spends more time reading my critiques than reading my articles. It's not that they like me better - they just read them. And I love it when the editors accept my article critique and actually think it's quite good. This is not always the case with other people. But, it's great when it happens! One of the best things you can do for yourself is to write down everything you want to improve. There's no point in writing down the negatives, if you can't really accept them as negatives. The next thing to do is to pick out those areas that are preventing you from improving your overall quality of work. Write down the problems and then start doing things to make them better.Another thing you can do is to go over your articles and rewrite them. But don't go back and edit them later - instead, write down the things you did right and the things you did wrong. When you're done with your rewrite, your article will be even better. You'll have started fresh and it will show in your writing. It's an extremely effective way to improve your article before you even submit it to a magazine.
